My heart is full!
There were so many beautiful moments of gathering this past Holy Week. It truly was inspiring to see people of ages gather as a community, not just at Faith, but also in our community service at Old Bethel.
Last night I was driving to the northside of the city, to have dinner with a friend. As I was driving the sky was pretty overcast. However, there were some incredible beams of sun rays, trying to pierce through the darkness. Those moments encouraged my tired spirit. Those moments reminded me of the resurrection love of Christ, we just celebrated Sunday.
Resurrection brings hope
The reality and power of resurrection means that love, and life, spring up in some unexpected places. Just like the sunlight breaking through the darkness on my drive. The resurrected, eternal, and hopeful love of Jesus sustains us. And, we are a resurrection people, not just at Easter. Indeed, resurrection love and hope is all around us. We did not create it. Christ embodies it. And Christ is within us. Therefore, when we love others, extend justice, and live as empathetic people, we shine the resurrection love of Christ into the world.
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” ~C.S. Lewis
We should allow the love of Christ to be the filter in which we see the world.
