SENDING HUGS IN A BOX
Here at Faith United Methodist Church, several members have served in our military. Knowing what it is like to be stationed far away from family and friends, life sometimes feels lonely and detatched.
As a small gesture of "thanks" and an opportunity to express our gratitude for their service, the Faith Military Care Mission is an all-hands effort in the church to send "hugs in a box" in the form of care packages.
We collect the service members' favorite snacks in original manufacturer packaging, books, t-shirts, socks, outerwear, and of course "thank you" cards from the members of our church. Then, boxed up and ready to go, we ship them off to places far away, as a simple reminder of home. Do you know a family member or neighbor serving in the military? Nominate them for a "hug" from home.
